NSCN (IM) cadres kill two Khaplang men

At a time when the move to forge an unity among various Naga underground factions is gaining ground, five armed cadres of the Issac-Muivah faction of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-IM) have killed two cadres of rival Khaplang faction and seriously injured one.

The incident is more shocking as it took place when both Issac Chisi Swu and T. Muivah came to India to give a final shape to the ongoing unification move. It is also alarming that the NSCN (IM) cadres did not pay any heed to the modalities worked out by the Naga Hoho and agreed upon by the two underground factions.

According to reports, in the evening of May 17, five NSCN (IM) cadres, armed with sophisticated weapons, went to a video hall at Chotabasti in Kohima in a vehicle and picked up three NSCN (K) cadres from the hall. The three NSCN (K) cadres abducted by the rival outfit were Minguzelhou Kense, Achuba and Mezhu Zolie Angami.

They were then taken to somewhere near Chakhabama, about 16 kms away from Kohima where the NSCN (IM) cadres shot at the three rival camp followers and left the place.
While two of them died on the spot, Achubu survived. He spent the entire night there and proceeded towards Kohima.
