Starvation deaths in Tripura The Tripura Upajati Yuba Samiti (TUJS) has alleged of at least 41 starvation deaths in the State. TUJS general secretary Rabindra Debbarma said that most of the victims were women and children. The starvation deaths, Mr. Debbarma claimed, occured in Gandacherra and remote Rishyabari areas. The tribal leader appealed to the ruling Left Front Government to take measures on war footing to save innocent lives. Mr. Debbarma said that a 60-year-old woman Kansilla Reang died in his presence.
