Meghalaya: Core group to study causes of fear psychosis

The reconstituted Shillong Community Relations Council has decided to constitute a core group to diagnose the causes triggering panic among the people in view of recent anti-social activities in Meghalaya recently.

A meeting chaired by Chief Minister B. B. Lyngdoh observed that people in the State were suffering from fear psychosis following growing unemployment, extortions, abductions and influx of foreigners.

It was decided in the meeting that the core group besides studying the causes of evils in the society would offer solution and chalk out a plan of action.Recently, extortionists had robbed Minister of State for Communication Deborah Marak at her official residence.Prominent others who attended the meeting were Deputy Chief Minister D. D. Lapang and State Home Minister A. H. Scott Lyngdoh.
